About the Role
The Livestock Specialist will oversee the management, health, and productivity of livestock at Mukora Smart Farm. This role involves implementing best practices in animal husbandry, nutrition, breeding, and disease control.
Key Responsibilities:
-Manage daily care, feeding, and health monitoring of livestock.
-Develop and implement breeding programs to enhance productivity.
-Ensure compliance with biosecurity measures and disease prevention protocols.
-Monitor livestock health and coordinate with veterinarians for treatment.
-Conduct research and implement innovative farming techniques to improve yields.
-Train farm staff on livestock handling and management practices.
-Maintain accurate livestock records (births, deaths, vaccinations, and sales).
Ideal Candidate:
-Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, or related field.
-3+ years of experience in livestock management.
-Strong understanding of livestock nutrition, breeding, and disease control.
-Experience in commercial livestock farming is a plus.
